Dr. Ann-Marie Schmid graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. With her undergraduate training in television and video production, she has produced several professional veterinary training videos and also worked for Sony Studios as the personal vet for dogs Buck and Lucky of the TV show "Married With Children."
Dr. Schmid is owned by several chow chow dogs along with cats too numerous to count. Originally a self-proclaimed "dog person," she obtained her first cat in 1987 while working as a veterinary assistant. The rest, as any cat person can tell you, is history. She is now a proud convert and happy to be considered one of those "crazy cat ladies."
Dr. Schmid has attended numerous continuing education seminars and is an active participant on the Veterinary Information Network. She has a special interest in feline viruses, such as FIV, and believes strongly in preventative medicine.
When she is not on a house call, Dr. Schmid works at Cream City Kitty Clinic-the oldest established feline exclusive hospital in the greater Milwaukee area. An ASE certified automotive technician, she enjoys restoration of older vehicles as well as participating in autocross, rallye and stunt driving events. She also enjoys being in the spotlight and has acted and done technical work for the Rhode Opera House, a community theatre in Kenosha. She recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and has earned her private pilot license.
